Akatsuki Shiranui Gundam

The ORB-01 Akatsuki Mobile Suit with Shiranui backpack given to Cagalli by his father appeared only late in the Gundam Seed Destiny animation.
This MS spots a golden armour that reflects laser beams. This MS was later piloted by Mwu aka Neo.

This kit is not done by me but someone else. Apparantly that builder actually dechromed it and repainted with a dull gold colour. Let us now appreciate it.

McFarlane's Napoleon Dynamite

Napoleon Dynamite figurines by McFarlane's.
The only place to get them is to visit Spawn Asia to check them out.
They cost S$15 each and requires to be purchased as a set of 5 figurines.
Still a bit too pricey for me.
I ended up with a spawn and a special Corpse's Bride twin set instead.
Duh...

Now check out the figurines.

Free Kits!

I have to thank 'Lina' for these built-up kits.
Despite that she decided to give them to me F.O.C.
I believe a token of S$10 on top of the deal that I clinching on behalf of my friend,
will give me a peace of mind.
Check out the pictures captured with my crapy N6230 posed with a NG 1/144 MS kit.

Gundam X Rediscovered

Yesterday,
I saw some much anticipated Gunpla kits from the 'After the war Gundam X' series.
Despite many remarks of Gundam X mechas of having no originality in design,
I still keep my opinions personal.
I feel that as long as it is a nice mecha, it doesn't really matter if there is originality or not.
These are what I saw in store.

Gundam X core has been described as having ripped off the RX mobile suit. I find it looks similar to the F91 Gundam though. I really like the X and X D.V. Refer to the inspirational pictures of these mechas in previous post.

SD Strike Freedom SB

Although there is already concrete news that Bandai is releasing an SD Strike Freedom Gundam,
fans had already scratched built this dream mecha.
Let us now appreciate its beauty.

Last Sunday, 19th Feb, managed to clear one of my little collection of Seed/Destiny NG 1/100 kits.
Destiny Gundam, sold to Delvin Yeo.
Although pretty reluctant to let it go,
I really don't need to have 3 Destiny Gundams (2 of 1/144 scale and 1 of this), since I am only intending to keep 1/144 scales.
Furthermore, his offer was way too attractive for me to reject.

A final look at the Destiny Gundam.

Akatsuki Shiranui and Triple DOM

Finally,
after much waiting,
the Akatsuki Shiranui has arrived and I managed to grab 3 pieces.
One for myself, one for Nexus and another for Des.
Nexus also ordered a Triple Dom and I get the privilege to do some 'checkin' on his behalf.

About Zeta-MSV
The MSZ-008 Z II is developed under Anaheim Electronics' "Zeta Project" as a space use mobile suit. Using the concept of the MSA-005 Methuss, the complicated transformation used in the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam is simplified and maneuverability is increased. The waverider mode is changed, making atmospheric re-entry and flight on the Earth impossible. Also, the waverider mode has great acceleration surpassing the standard mobile suits of the time. The mega beam rifle is connected to the generator, allowing it a great power equaling that of the Zeta Gundam's hyper mega launcher. Anaheim and the AEUG assume that the Z II will far exceed the capability of other mobile suits developed in UC 0088. The Z II's manufacturing costs are also excellent. However, even though it has great specs there are several problems with the construction. At the AEUG's request, Anaheim places emphasis on completing the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam. As a result, the project is canceled and the Z II is never built.

Armored Core Mirage C01-GAEA

Another kit worth the mention is definitely the 'Armored Core Mirage C01-GAEA' by Kotobukiya.
Tagged at a retail price of 2800Yen, which is about the price of a NG 1/100 Gundam Seed kit.
I would estimate it to be S$59.95.
I saw it at Hobby Point before and recently at Miniature Hobby (having 20% OFF permanently).
Miniature is selling at S$59.90 before discount.

I initally thought that the Mirage is one of the many models from the Armored Core game, but I was wrong. Kotobukiya released only one model and this is the one. The rest are add-on weapons for this unit. A brief history. Armored Core was a video game set way back on the Super Nintendo platform, it later progressed onto PSX and PS2. The gameplay of the armored core is similar to that of Squaresoft's 'Front Mission' or PC game 'MechWarrior'.

Let us now embrace its beauty.
