EATZ: 成龙鱼汤 Chen Long Fish Soup (PS)

Chen Long Fish Soup (成龙鱼汤)
Stall 7, Level 6, Plaza Singapura
S$4.80
First, Plaza Singapura, then came VivoCity, now CompassPoint and AMK Hub. Chen Long Fish Soup has definitely managed to expand itself into the heartlands and retain their loyal queues. If you still think that Chen Long Fish Soup has got any affiliation with the Jackie Chan, let me reassure you, "No". Chen Long Fish Soup is possible because of Mr. Chen Rong, a chef from Fuzhou, China.
Chen Long Fish Soup serves the regular "Sliced Fish Soup" and "Fried Fish Soup" in different ways that is already very common to the locals. They also serve some stir-fry on rice, but prople would always queue up for the fish soup. For myself, I prefer the "Fried Fish Soup Hotpot" with plenty of carnation milk added.
Fried Fish Soup Hotpot with Rice
S$4.80 + S$0.50
The fish soup is served in a mini-hotpot instead of a bowl. The hotpot is then 'fired' up to keep the soup on a gentle boil while diners savour a hearty hot meal! I lost track of the number of fried fish chunks in the hotpot. The fish meat is fresh, not too dry and flaky. Though some places manage to keep their fried coating crisp even after soaking in the soup for a while, the coating of the fried fish soup here soaks up the soup readily. Nevertheless, it is up to the individual's preference. I would not mind if the coating is heavily soaked with the rich, tasty and milky soup, made from fish bones stock. Inside the hotpot are some greens, tomatoes and a few slices of ginger. I can be rather particular about the rice with my fish soup. Chen Long Fish Soup has definitely satisfied me with their fragrant and not too soggy rice.

Verdict
Having had many good reviews and long queues, nothing can possibly go wrong. Unless you have found a better one; I had found one in Serangoon Central. Nevertheless, the tasty fish soup at Chen Long Fish Soup will get you 'hooked' to it! If you have not tried it yet, you must queue and try it! If you are deciding between "Riverside Indonesian Nasi Panggang" and this, I suggest getting both!
