The The WARAKU restaurants are always very popular with endless queues at The Central. There are two WARAKU restaurants located at The Central: "WARAKU Japanese Casual Dining" and "Pasta de WARAKU". For regular Japanese cuisine, one can visit "WARAKU Japanese Casual Dining" while those who like Italian-influenced Japanese cuisine, one can visit "Pasta de WARAKU". Tsubaki Set
S$18.80
Tsubaki Set comes with a full sized portion of udon and a small bowl of unagi (grilled eel) on rice. The thick udon noodles comes in a clear, heavy and starchy egg sauce. Though there isn't much ingredients in the noodles, it is still very tasty. By the time we are done with the udon, the soft rice has turned cold but the unagi is still savoury.

Hotate & Cheese Cream
S$13.80
Cheese cream in Japanese cuisine seems like it should belong to the "Pasta de WARAKU" menu, but this range of dishes are probably so good that they make it into the Grand menu. Instead of spaghetti, this dish comes with udon. The cream cheese sauce is very cheesy and tasty. There are five huge succulent slabs of hotate (scallops) that are also very tasty.

Verdict
You really got to try the Japanese food at "WARAKU Japanese Casual Dining". The prices are reasonable, though priced above family restaurants but still cheaper than fine Japanese dining. Their menu can definitely interest the picky diners who always yearn for something different. Though the noodles only filled half the huge bowl, by the time we were done with our udon, we were quite full.
I find an uncanny similarity to the name "Seoul Yummy: Korean Casual Dining". Nevertheless, both are very good restaurants that I will not hesitate to recommend to friends.
