New addition to 1/6th Collection: GIGN

After a visit to our regular toy shopping haunt with 12-inch Pro Bro, and thanks to his scouting during his break, I scored myself a Hot Toys GIGN Assault Team Leader! You guys will have to wait till I have shot emy Revoltechs backlog (not a good term!) and giving Medicom COBRA GEK a 2nd wave shoot. Meanwhile, here are some pictures to tell you why you should get yourself a Hot Toys.

This French Special Forces, GIGN by Hot Toys comes in two versions. The Assault Team Leader comes with a Jean Reno head scuplt and more weapons, while the Operator comes with a Christian Bale head sculpt and a cool 'Darth Vadar-ish' helmet. I was in a dilemma over which to get. The market value of the Operator is more expensive than the Assualt Team Leader and I really like the 'Darth-Vadar-ish' helmet. However, both marked at the same RREDUCED price, it is tempting not to get both! Nevertheless, the wise man decides to get more 'bang-for-the-buck' (in terms of versatility for shoots) by having the Assault Team Leader that comes equipped with more weapons.

Box condition is a humble 7/10.

Weapon tray. The difference in GIGN Assault Team Leader and Operator, apart from the head sculpt, subtle differences in the vest and helmet, is the weaponry. The Assault Team Leader comes with a full range of weapons to choose from: Glock Hand Gun~ Magnum Hand Gun with support legs~ Magnum Revolver Hand Gun~ Shot Gun~ MP5, while Operator only have: ~ Glock Hand Gun~ Magnum Hand Gun~ MP90.

Here I talk about the Magnum hand gun with support legs. The hand gun has a long barrel, scope, a butt in wood finish and a 'really' revolving bullet chamber. The support legs comes in dual feet on a cradle that slides onto the barrel. The spring loaded feet 'really' works, which allows it to be deployed or kept.
I felt a bit conned when the box art showed a chrome Magnum Revolver hand gun, but the actual revolver is in black. Once again, the bullet chamber 'really' revolves and cocks too! Same applies to GIGN Operator's.
For a REDUCED price, it gives NO reason to pass on an excellent Hot Toys Generation Life Body (less flexi fingers) with realistic head sculpts of celebrities, detailed playeable weapons and fantastic fabricated costumes. I would say, "Togtherness, Arthur!" and am glad I got a positive response. Its GIGN Operator for my buddy!
