Climax U.C.

Updated post

The title that got me hooked to the television and joypad, until my tired eyes could not handle it.
The game is Climax U.C. by Bandai+Namco.

The controls include basic forward, retreat, left turn, right turn (directional pad). Thruster (X) for dashing and thruster (R2) for jumping/dashing in space (thrusters uses a self-rechargeable limit). Range weapon ([]) when held, the limit can break 2 times, after which becomes an auto-fire with special attack (eg. RX-78 regular=beam rifle attack, 1st limit break=2 beam rifle shots and 2nd limit break=4x2 beam cannon shots (from wide angle to centre)). Melee weapon (^)when held becomes a power melee attack (eg. RX-78 dashes with beam saber, Zaku II with Axe). Skill (o) uses CP (usually 30CP at the start of mission), you can choose only 1 of 2 unique MS skill. Armour issue weapon (R1) basic burst range attack (eg. RX-78 machine gun from armour, Zaku II's machine gun)

The game modes are very simple,
3 modes, Single Chronicle mode and Progress mode and VS mode (2 players only).
So far, I have tried only the Chronicle mode.

I tried out the tutorial mode to understand the gameplay (since everything is in japanese). The tutorial had 3 levels, easy, medium and hard. You get to play Jegan. Easy stage guides you through basic land movements and jumps. Medium guides you through space movements. Hard guides you through attack methods.

In the Chronicle mode, you get to choose one out a few MS acroos the UC, starting from the RX-78 to F91.
After selection, the story of the game follows the story of the animation strictly.
I had chosen RX-78 piloted by Ray Amuro.
Every start of the mission, there is a short clip of the RX-78 launching from the Whitebase.
The earlier missions include objectives like bringing down Char's Zaku II, BigZam and ships in Jaburo.
Of course, along the way, there are tons of Zaku II, Dom/Rick-Dom and Gelgoog flying around like flies, attacking you.
The final mission is a face off with Zeong (incomplete) who is insanely strong.
After the defeat of the Zeong, a short animation (non 3D) shows the Zeong head escape while the RX-78 chasing after it into a contained facility. The RX-78 gave its dramatic final blow at the Zeong, depicting the famous scene "The Last Shooting". After that there is an image of Chars Aznable (in pilot suit) hugging Ray (in pilot suit too), helmets met and blood spurts out from in between, as if they zidane-butted each other.
After completing the Ray Amuro story, Chars Aznable becomes playable. Chars Aznable only had 2 missions. First is to ambush the EFSF with his classic red custom Zaku II. The next mission is as Zeong against RX-78. (The RX-78 CPU is deadly accurate with his beam rifle!!)

I have included an introduction clip as well as an in game clip.
Enjoy.

Introduction clip
from the clip, you can see various cool mobile suits from the universal century, battling each other.

In-game clip with RX-78
The loading time was trimmed to make the video shorter. The chronicle mode is being illustrated.
