Hook up your camera to the USB via USB cable and Photos will load up the photos in your camera.

No USB thumbdrive connectivity support! Shame on 'em! The OS update lowered the power output such that even a thumbdrive ain't supported. However, there is a workaround.
SD Card Connector

The SD Card connector is a more useable device to load up all the photos only from your DCIM folder.
Real shame for iOS file system making the camera connector a less useable tool!
Nevertheless, this device is a portable way to load up high quality photos onto your iPad.
