EATZ: Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe

Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe
180, Kitchener Road #B2 55-56
City Square Mall, Singapore 208539.

Fancy an Italian cuisine that will not cost you a bomb? Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe is a Japanese restaurant that serves "Pasta de Waraku-ish" style food at less than S$10 per dish! Their new outlet is located in an easily accessible City Square Mall via North-East Line (NEL) at Farrer Park Station. Their first outlet in Liang Court proves to be a success, which I had tried as well. Nevertheless, they still do not have a Singapore website, hence, you can browse the identical Japanese menu here.

Soup of the day

Mushroom soup.

Vegetable Gratin
A cheesy gratin baked to a golden-brown top, while preserving the moist, wet cheesy interior with broccoli, corn cobs and carrots

Hawaiian Pizza
The personal pan pizza is served on a fragrant thick pizza base topped with ham and pineapples.

Hamburg & Bacon
A juicy slab of minced beef hamburger patty and bacon strips with potato wedges, greens and egg served on a sizzling hotplate.

Verdict
With prices so attractive, Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe sure beats the competitor Waraku de Pasta hands down. The bacon are tad greasy, the beef patty is juicy and tender. I loved the idea that they have the 'sunny-side up' egg served on the side. The Vegetable Gratin tastes decent but nothing to shout about. I would have preferred the pizza being served on thin crust, but thick crust does gives the carbohydrates to fill you up.
Overall, price is the best reason you should visit Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe. Yes, most of the dishes are below S$10!! In terms of quality of food, it cannot never beat true Italian restaurants. But they do have their own appeal for a league of fans from various age groups. A perfect location for family meals, couple meals, or even a solo meal. The convenient location of City Square Mall along the NEL (Farrer Park Station) makes this outlet easier to access, compared to the Liang Court store!
