WHO has declared the highest level of alert to the spread of the H1N1 Swine flu virus, meaning a pandemic is in place; a first influenza pandemic in 41 years.

The H1N1 flu virus though is not considered potently deadly but the spread of the virus is definitely extremely rapid. There are also concerns that the virus might mutate into a more potent or deadly type, render it undetectable and even undestructable by existing methods and medications or vaccines.
It is time to stock up on those protective face masks! Practise a higher level of personal hygiene and avoid crowded enclosed areas.
