KS20 Lost & Found!

Losing my LG KS20 & an Act of Kindness

Today was really an uneventful day. It was raining heavy and I was again having half the mind to stay in, but that never happened. So I got myself ready for work today. I plugged in to my iPod and with my umbrella in one hand, I left home for the train station. Along the way, I took my LG KS20 out to check if I have for messages. I then later slipped it back into my spacious front pocket. I am someone who never likes the rain, especially when they get my socks and pants wet. Today, I was practically swimming in my shoes; my shoes were completely flooded. My jeans were wet throughly from the torrent rain. It was really not unusual for the rain to get so heavy and flooding the pavement; the rain water were even bursting out from the gutters like geysers. I was almost about to turn and return home for a change. I could not imagine enduring a whole day in wet jeans and socks, especially when my office is like winter everyday. When I reached out to feel my wet jeans, I realise that the familiar bulge in my pocket wasn't there. My phone is gone! I checked every pockets and even my bag, but my KS20 could not be found. I have always been a very careful person and detested carelessness. I would also never place my things in other places than the usual. There was also no way I could have been pickpocketed. So where can my phone be!? I then retraced my steps and scanned the flooded ground for my phone with it striking mobile strap. I had half the mind that it would have been picked up and pocketed, especially when I was among the morning crowd waiting for their buses. I retraced my steps back to home. I felt really helpless without my phone. I was glad to meet a kind man who lent me his phone to call my number. My line was ringing, suggesting that my phone was not turned off yet; there was still a slim chance that it was not picked up yet. I then made another call to my wife and have her help me to continue calling my number. I reached home, changed out my wet clothes drenched in sweat and rain, slipped into my slippers and got out to trace my steps again. From my place to the train station is about 5 minutes of walk. Still no luck. I was feeling really down losing my adored KS20 phone and the important personal data in them.

When I got home, I received a call. It was my wife. She told me that a man has picked up my phone, and he will wait for me or my wife to pick it up from him anytime. He even left his mobile number, which I immediately called. This kind man, Mr. Goh, stays near my place. He had picked it up on his way home from work. We then arranged to meet up at his place in 5 minutes. I gave a huge sigh of relief and took off to meet Mr. Goh. When I offered him a reward, he turned me down and told me to be more careful the next time round. I was thanking him endlessly for his act of kindness. I thought I was really lucky to have met him. Most importantly, my phone was having 0% battery life then. Should my cell went dead at that time, I would never be able to see my KS20 anymore.

After such an ordeal, it is definitely a relief to have recovered my mobile phone in one piece (less a few slight dents ). Most importantly, having met Mr. Goh, a gentleman. His act of kindess touched my heart and I am regaining faith in this society, especially when I have lost much faith in this society, since I have heard too many people losing their mobiles and never found.

Thank you Mr. Goh!
May the bodhisattvas bless you with good health!

but then greed had always been in humans...
I ask "Should you find an iPhone 3G on the seat of the bus, will you return or pocket it?"

yeah am really lucky to get it back.

I do keep my documents and info synced to-date, but I fear the loss of these documents and them landing in the wrong hands of an IT-savvy villain.
Of course, it is not that I worry any compromising photos, but the addresses, ID numbers, bank statements, scans of personal ID documents etc.
the more reliant one gets on something, the dangerous it gets!

went yesterday as planned,
prices were more expensive than usual shops such as MS Color and even Canon's e-quote.

so didn't get anything.

but am still tempted to get my 8GB Compact Flash.
