EATZ: Battle of the Saba Fish

Saba Fish Set
Korean Stall, Marina Square Food Loft
S$5.50
Huge half of the saba fish sits on a regular oval hot plate with a long tail extending outwards. The fish is laced and decorated with shredded cabbage, onion, carrots and spring onion. A small slice of lemon sits in the middle. The dish sizzles violently when served, but soon subsided when I reached my table. As usual, almost every Korean dish in the food courts is served with a rice in a stainless steel bowl, as well as some kimchi and chillied anchovies. There is also a bowl of egg soup.

Saba Fish Set
?? shop (beside Hans), Park Mall Basement 2
S$6.80
By chance, I came to visit this shop at Park Mall Basement 2 for lunch. Apart from serving regular Chinese stir-fries, they serve the common Korean food as well. I chose the saba fish set, since I love fish and particular saba fish. The tail of the saba fish was snipped off and placed on the side, such that the whole fish could fit into the regular hotplate. There was not fancy garnishing, but just a few chopped red chilli. Instead of a lemon, there was half a lime. As usual, kimchi and chillied anchovies for starters. There is also rice and miso soup.

Verdict
Both are actually rather good. But in all battles, there must be a winner. The winner is the one from PARK MALL!
Despite the saba fish not being as big as the one from Food Loft, the winning fish is actually much tastier. I believe that they had marinated the sliced side with some sauce before grilling it. I am not bothered by the fancy garnishings, since the saba fish is the highlight! Furthermore, the shop at Park Mall serves miso soup, unlike Food Loft's which serves a rather plain egg soup. Though slightly more expensive, I do not mind paying more to get good food. Hence, double thumbs up for the one at Park Mall!
If anyone can provide me the name, please do! Thanks!
