A Walk In Joo Chiat

With no special agenda for the holiday, we decide to take a walk down Joo Chiat. I love this area, of course, not for the vice trades, but the variety of shops here. I have earlier visited here as well.
Here are some pictures documenting my visit.

Can't resist but snap a cool-looking Land Rover. The early Peranakan culture in this region is reflected in the external facade of buildings. Even the budget hotel has got European influence.

We have tried D'Bun before, but we just have to try it again. We bought a mini Char Siu bun and a normal chicken bun. I won't be trying it if they ain't nice.

May the colors spill onto the buildings. A worker working on the paint job.

The small crane supporting the painter. The chicken pie from Boulevard must be nice, which I swear to try them one of these days. Baker's Well serves frangrant confectionary at just a few shops away from the famous 'Red House Bakery'. Fio gets her breakfast here everyday before hitting the office. Nope, I never snap the shop front of the famous Aston Specialties!

Other shops worth visitng on Joo Chiat and East Coast Road. The famous Obolo that serves a sinfully-rich cheesecake. Puteri Mas who claims to be the 'meanest' durian puff specialist and they had proven it! If you like the way how Caucasians buy their meat, you can visit Oh Deli. I would definitely try the Tibetan Restaurant, hoping that I can cope with the dishes with Yak milk.

I'm glad that I never walk this road.

Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple along Ceylon Road, off East Road, a recommended attraction by NHB. If you have visited the more famous Katong Laksa stalls at East Coast Road, opp Roxy Square, you would not have missed this grand temple along Ceylon Road.

These are pretty much al that caught my attention during this day trip before the evening sun washes everything our with the strong evening glow. We winded up at Parkway Parade for some shopping, again!
