Nocturnal Encounter

Yesterday evening, when I was home, I noticed a dark spot from the corner of my eye. I turned to take a closer look. To my astonishment, it was a huge flying bug! It had vestigial wings like that of a fly with a body like that of a grasshopper. I have never seen such an insect before.

I strongly believe that the presence of this insect has got something to do with the rather full moon. When I glanced out of my bedroom window, I found the moon was unusally low, which soon rose out of sight.
