Chung Cheng Chilli Mee

Beach Road Market aka Army Market, is famous for the hawker food fare as well as the availability of stalls selling army-related stuff from insignia to mosquito coils, thus earning its name. Visiting the army market used to be a favourite past time on weekends for army boys including myself, during service time. Now that I am civilian, I revisit army market with a different objective, Food!
I used to visit there for the Ah Balling dumping dessert soup and Char Kway Teow. Then, nexus recommended the Beef Kway Teow. Now, Elizabeth recommended us to try the Chung Cheng Chilli Mee, located on the upper level (same level as Ah Balling) facing Golden Mile side.

For S$3, you can get a huge bowl of noodle mixed with their specialty frangrant fried chilli paste, topped with succulent chunky pork rib cubes, juicy crunchy shrimps, slices of fish cake and tao-pok (pressed beancurd) and fresh lettuce, garnished with fried shallots.

This is definitely worth the buck and I strongly recommend you give it a try! You will not regret your trip.
